These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of Speak Spanish Academy’s website and services.

Speak Spanish Academy is located at 71 Speers Road, Unit 13, Oakville, Ontario, L6K 0H9

Payment:

Tuition fees are to be paid in accordance with the selected program. Payment plans are via credit/debit card, PayPal or cheques. Either method of payment will agree to the following:

Pre-authorized monthly fees will be charged to your account on the first day of each month during the program. If a failed credit card transaction happens, another attempt will be made within 14 days. If still the transaction cannot be processed, we will contact the customer via email, phone or text until their payment is made.

Cheques are to be post-dated (one per month), provided before the beginning of the program or during the registration process. A fee of $10 will be charged for each cheque with insufficient funds.

Important Terminology Regarding Tuition Deposit and Fees.

Tuition Deposit: $50.00 amount payable once for each new course to secure a seat in that course. This deposit is put towards the total cost of the course and it’s non-refundable.

Tuition Fees: In the event an invoice is not paid on time, to the maximum extent allowable by law, Speak Spanish Academy will charge a late payment fee of 1.50% per month on any overdue and unpaid balance not in dispute. All payment obligations are non-cancelable and fees paid are non-refundable.

Cancellations and Termination Policy:

Speak Spanish Academy reserves the right to cancel programs with full refund due to low enrollment. A minimum of three students are required to open a new group. In the event this number is not reached, we will try our best to provide alternative options. If no alternative is found two weeks prior to the starting day, the Academy will refund the full amount.

In the case the student has to cancel an enrollment prior to the starting date, Speak Spanish Academy will give the student a full refund if notified via email at least two weeks prior the beginning of the program. For any cancellation with less than two weeks notice, the Academy will only provide credit to be used in a 12 month period after written cancellation notice is received.

In the case the student has to terminate an enrollment during the program, the Academy requires a 30-days written notice via email to Speak Spanish Academy. After this period, the student may cancel the pre-authorized payment method. If paid by post-dated cheques, the unused cheques will be returned to the student after the 30-day notice period.

Speak Spanish Academy reserves the right to terminate any enrollment agreement for non-payment of fees, or for disruptive behavior by the student. Verbal, physical, written or other abuse (including threats of abuse or retribution) of any student, parent or guardian towards Speak Spanish Academy staff, facility or instructor will result in immediate service termination.

Attendance:

No refunds will be given for student’s absences (for make-up classes policy, refer to “make-up classes” section).

All missed classes must be reported 24 hours before the class starts. Notifications are to be made by email, phone call or text message to Speak Spanish Academy or the Instructor. Please note, missed classes that have not been reported at least one hour before the start time, will result in the loss of a make-up opportunity.

Should an Instructor be absent, a substitute instructor will be provided. Should the Instructor need to cancel a class, and there is no substitute available, the student will be given a make-up class.

Make-up classes:

For programs running during the school year (starting in September and ending in June), student will have the option to a maximum of three make-up class. These make-up classes will only take place during the make-up weeks (please see Calendar).

For all other programs (except for private classes and tutorings), students are eligible for make-up classes depending on the length and frequency of the program. Make-up class policies are specified within each program description.

With no exceptions, a missed make-up class will not be rescheduled.

Inclement weather:

In cases where Speak Spanish Academy cancels due to inclement weather, the classes will be rescheduled. Please check the website, social media or call/text for the status of classes during inclement weather. It is the responsibility of the students, parents or guardians to ensure the Academy is open before attending classes in the case a warning has been issued in the area.

Private classes:

Private classes are provided for teens and adults who need tailor-made schedules to fit the agendas and needs. The package includes 10 or 20 hours of Spanish lesson in the Academy. These hours have to be used within three months after the first session. Hours that are not used within this period (90 days), expire and are non-refundable. In case of private class cancellation, such has to be notified by email, phone call or text message to the Academy or the instructor, 24 hours prior the scheduled class.

Modifications:

Please note that this agreement is subject to change at any time. When changes are made, we will update the Terms and Conditions on the Site and notify registered students, parents and guardians via email. Any changes to these Terms will be effective immediately and your continued use of the Site and our Services constitutes your acceptance of such change(s).
